October 2010 - Contemporary Acoustic Retreat (fully Booked)

This is a special retreat devoted to modern acoustic playing styles.

It will appeal to those who want to get a feel for of some of the new techniques utilized in the playing styles of many of the current crop of contemporary acoustic players such as Newton Faulkner, Preston Reed, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Rodrigo y Gabriela and Andy Mckee etc.

You will learn how to use techniques like tapping and slapping, percussion, harmonics, alternative tunings, chord harmony etc. Also exploring the use of stomp boxes and other pedals to enhance your sound.

Our tutor is Chris Woods a performer and teacher from Exeter who is currently making a name for himself in this relatively new genre. You can see and hear him play on his myspace (click on the link on the booking page).

CANCELLATIONS

If for any reason you have to cancel. Please allow at least 14 days before the event start date and we will try to fill your places and offer you another date or a refund. Unfortunately If we cannot fill the places we will be unable offer transfer dates or refunds.
