Guitar Retreats are the brainchild of Stuart Marshall. Stuart has been passionate about music from a very early age and has been making music for more than 20 years. He shares his passion through his music and peformances and through his teaching of guitar and singing. Stuart enjoys working with musicians and students of all ages and abilities and strives to bring out the best in everyone. He teaches private lessons, workshops and courses and performs at events throughout the UK and abroad.

Stuart says: "I love music of all genres, but I particularly enjoy guitar based music as there is always something more to be discovered from this incredibly versatile and expressive instrument. The idea for Guitar Retreats came about after numerous students and friends complained that a lack of time and personal space prevented them progressing with their playing. Many so-called 'bedroom guitarists' are often much better than they care to admit, most just need some encouragement and an opportunity to interact and play with others. Guitar Retreats offer players exactly that opportunity."

All our teachers are chosen for their enthusiasm and passion for teaching as well as their skill as guitar players. We have no time for prima donnas or precious musicians on our retreats and believe in an open and inclusive learning environment where all students are taught and encouraged according to their needs and abilities.
