to Guitar Retreats. Our Guitar Retreats give you the time and space you need to indulge your passion for playing guitar without all the usual interruptions and distractions found at home.
Guitar Retreats are aimed at all levels of guitar players who want to learn new skills and increase their confidence in a group situation. We create a relaxed, supportive and inspiring environment for you to concentrate on your guitar playing. Our weekend long retreats and one day workshops take place in great getaway locations that include Cornwall and the Cotswolds.
Our retreats were created to give you the personal time that you need to focus solely on your guitar playing. We provide you with the time and space in which to learn, share skills, practise and interact with other guitar enthusiasts. The events are held in beautiful, peaceful locations and our choice of venues is an important part of the whole experience. Comfortable, en-suite, bedrooms and great food are included in the weekend package.
When you can't find the time, energy and inspiration to play guitar at home and you want to take your playing to the next level - YOU NEED A GUITAR RETREAT!

This is the type of question we get asked the most and the simple answer is YES! Enthusiasm is more important than ability on our retreats. We don't discriminate on the basis of skill; whatever you are able to do now is fine. The retreats will help you to gain confidence in your playing abilities.

Holidays for you and your guitar

Here is a short film I made of our most recent Retreat at Farncombe in the Cotswolds. It gives a flavour of what to expect. Although each of our weekends have their own character this video shows the surroundings, where we stay and an idea of what happens in the group teaching sessions.

You will also have time to jam with the other
players and of course the opportunity to spend some quality time 'alone' with your guitar!
We like to have fun on our retreats and the highlight for many of our guests is the open-mic session on Saturday night. Here we create a friendly, supportive environment in which to air your favourite songs to the group, join in on an impromptu jam session, or just to sit back and enjoy the music. These nights often last into the early hours!
Each of our retreats features different styles and tutors. We have weekends for both acoustic and electric players and all styles and all standards are welcome. Our Freestyle Retreats are for all comers in any style and are suitable for beginners upwards. We also run courses with tutors who specialize in specific styles including Rock, Blues, Jazz, Americana, Folk, Fingerstyle and Contemporary.
I had put myself in an 'I can't do that' box. Coming on the retreat has made me see that
and helped me smash that box!
