The retreats run from Friday evening through to Sunday afternoon and cater for a maximum of 10 people. You will be shown different methods and techniques and some basic theory, together with plenty of tips and tricks to help you sound like a pro! Jamming!
On the Saturday evening there is an opportunity to put into practise what you have learnt during the day in an organised jam-a- long-a-singsong! This is often the highlight of the weekend for many people. Don't worry, there is no pressure to perform if you don't feel inclined to; the evenings are designed to be fun and inspiring and can provide the motivation needed to continue practicing alone when back at home.
If you just can't seem to find the time, energy or inspiration to play enough at home, even though sometimes it's the only thing that you really want to do, then you need a Guitar Retreat!

Some information about the tutor and organisers:
My name is Stuart Marshall and I run the retreats with the help of my wife Sharon. I have been involved in the music business in one way or another for over twenty years; as a musician, producer, teacher, singer songwriter and performer.

Stuart Marshall
Over the years I have been a member of numerous bands and musical collaborations and performed at many different venues all over the UK and abroad. I have worked with musicians of all ages and all levels of ability, from performing at The Red Sea Jazz Festival to managing recording studios and organising jam nights.
I love music of all genres, but I particularly enjoy guitar-based music. There is always something more to be discovered from this incredibly versatile and expressive instrument.

The idea for Guitar Retreats came about after numerous friends and colleagues complained that a lack of time and personal space prevented them progressing with their playing. Many so-called bedroom guitarists are often much better than they care to admit. Most just need some encouragement and a good enough reason to interact with other players and this is it!
